Olympiakos do not fear Arsenal because Sokratis has 'spilled Gunners secrets'

Arsenal will take on Olympiakos in the last 16 of the Europa League with former player Sokratis, now at the Greek side, looking to share their secrets with his new team-mates.

The two sides will square off in the last 16 of the Europa League this week.

The Greek side knocked Arsenal out of this competition last year and Pedro Martins, the man who masterminded that victory, remains in charge.

This year though they have the added bonus of inside information with Sokratis only leaving the Emirates in January.

And Bruma admits that the centre-half has been preparing them for the challenges that lie ahead.

“He has told us some secrets, but I won’t tell you about any of them,” he told Goal. “It’s between us and Sokratis.
“Of course, he knows Arsenal’s locker room better than anyone. He is a player with a lot of experience, he’s played for Milan, Dortmund and Arsenal who are all great, great clubs.

“So Sokratis is a very good voice, he’s been helping a lot in the locker room and he’s been helping the team a lot with his experience.

"We are really pleased to have him here and I’m sure he’s going to be a big help on Thursday.”

Arsenal won 1-0 in Athens last year before going down 2-1 in north London.

Olympiakos' two away goals meant they progressed after Youssef El-Arabi notched the winner in the final minute of extra-time.

The Greek side are not fearful of a revenge mission however and are relishing the challenge.

“Not at all,” he added. “Olympiacos has a lot of really experienced, international players.

“It’s natural that Arsenal talk about revenge, but every game has its history and everyone is feeling good about this one in our team.

“We were on the journey back from Holland after playing PSV [in the round of 32] when the draw was made and it was a surprise for us all.

“We were all happy because it’s going to be a great, great game. We want it, and despite it not being an easy tie, we are just thinking of winning and that’s all that matters.”
