Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are the favourite to win this season’s Champions League.
That’s the opinion of Barcelona legend Lionel Messi.
The Argentine hero has won four Champions League titles during his sensational career and has scored three times in this year’s competition as Barca sit top of Group D.
Yet despite his history, Messi does not anticipate bringing a fifth title back to the Nou Camp and has faith in old friends Pep Guardiola and Neymar.
"City is one of the strongest teams at the moment together with PSG," he told.
"So far, they have been the two teams that have shown themselves to be favourites, but this is a very long and tough competition.
“I never rule out Real Madrid because although they're not having the results that everyone expects, I have no doubt that in the end they will be fighting for everything, as they do every year.
"Bayern is another big team that will also be there at the end, but it's true that today City and PSG are the best."
Despite two goalless draws in their last two European matches, Barca are through to the knockout stage and will finish top of the group barring a disaster in their final game.
Messi has been in stunning form this season, scoring 12 times in as many La Liga matches as Barcelona sit four points clear at the top of the table.
They return to action on Sunday with a trip to second-placed Valencia.
