Two plays from today’s slate that I’ve singled out and believe have value:
Total Points – VJ Edgecombe (PHI)
With 8 of his last 12 games going over today’s line, I believe he can get past 17 points. Against Detroit one of the worst wing defenses in the league, giving up a lot of drives, a lot of transition points, and a lot of fouls this pick has solid chances of hitting. I see betting value on Over 16.5 (-120).
Total Points – De’Aaron Fox (SAS)
This play has value if Fox gets 27–28 minutes or more. In that case, and with the Nuggets missing key players lacking wing defenders, lacking length on the perimeter, and essentially lacking help defense the 15.5 looks very reachable. The only condition is that he gets a reasonable amount of playing time. If that happens, Over 15.5 (-115) deserves to be on our card.
