Lionel Messi's wife reveals the sex of their unborn child as couple get ready to welcome latest addition

Antonela Roccuzzo confirmed she was pregnant with the couple's third child last month.

Lionel Messi's stunning wife Antonela Roccuzzo has let slip the sex of the new child she is expecting - and it’s ANOTHER BOY.

The Argentinian beauty confirmed she was pregnant last month with an Instagram photo showing her football star husband and their two sons touching her stomach alongside the caption: “Family of 5. Blessed.”

The world was left guessing whether the couple’s third child would be a boy or a girl.

Last night Antonela, who married the Barcelona striker in a glitzy wedding in their home city of Rosario on June 30, ended the wait by appearing to blunder with a birthday message for their eldest son Thiago, who they call Thiagui.

Writing on social media with a touching message to mark his fifth birthday, she said in Spanish: “Happy Birthday Thiagui. Five years old. How big you are my love. I hope you’re always this happy.

“We love you to where the rockets fly.”

Alongside a picture of the youngster smiling for the camera as he stood on a swing, she finished the message with the long hashtag - referring to the couple’s other son Mateo as Matu: #papimamimatuytuhnitoencamino #nopodemosamartemas.

Argentinian papers immediately seized on the message as proof the child on its way was another boy.

The hashtag sentence in Spanish translates into English as “Daddy and Mummy, Matu And Your Little Brother on the way, we cannot possibly love you any more.”

Antonella used the shortened form of the word ‘Hermanito’ - Little Brother - at the end of the message rather than Hermanita meaning Little Sister.

Social media users also picked up on the significance of the message, seen by most people as an unintended slip rather than deliberate confirmation of the sex of the unborn child.

One, writing on Antonela’s Instagram, said: “It’s a boy.”

Antonela, Messi’s childhood sweetheart, announced she was expecting again on October 15 - Mother’s Day in Argentina.

The footballer was given permission to miss training to to attend the birth of his eldest son on November 2 2012.

He wrote afterwards on Facebook: “I am the happiest man in the world.”

Mateo was born on September 11 2015, also in Barcelona.
